Keep deleted entries.

Keep deleted entries.

Short, concise description of the idea
Keep "deleted" entries in the system so that they may be reviewed at a later date.

Full description of the idea
As a community moderator, I'd like to be able to see entries that a member (or another moderator) has deleted. Instead of completely removing them, they'd be flagged as "deleted" and would only show when moderators view the community or you view your own journal. These posts would show up with strike-through so you know they are deleted posts. On your personal journal, you could "purge" them to completely remove them if you so desire. In tracking the deletes though, you'd also have to track all edits to the post so that a member could not just blank-out their post before deleting it (and perhaps display them differently for moderators. A link to view all changes perhaps?)

An ordered list of benefits
  • Moderators would be able to see posts that were deleted without having to copy them to a separate community.
  • Moderators would also be able to see posts that were deleted by the member, not just by the moderator team.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Deleted/modified entries would take up space on the LJ servers.
  • Would need to code in a way for posts to be flagged as deleted/edited/etc.
