more tag insertion buttons for the html source editor

more tag insertion buttons for the html source editor

Short, concise description of the idea
more buttons for html tags to be easily inserted in the html view of the editor

Full description of the idea
currently, there are the "Insert Image" and "Embed Media" buttons taking up much space with just 2 functions. would be great to have just picture buttons, but all the basic tags like:
hyperlink, image, table (simple table structure with 1 or 2 columns), embed media, bold, italic, underline, perhaps a container snippet for font (font color="" size="") and span-tags (span style="background:"), ordered and unordered list button. :)

An ordered list of benefits
  • much easier posting with browsers like Opera 9.6 which are not supported by the WYSIWYG editor (and people who prefer the source)
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • an interface change suggestion always is something sensible for users. but I guess since most people use the WYSIWYG environment, they won't complain for a little more functionaliy, here. the suggestion of buttons perhaps stripped down to some essential ones (hyperlink, image, embed, basic font tag, list item) to preserve the lightweight feeling the editor has at the moment
