Short, concise description of the idea
Are inactive communities purged from LJ system?
Full description of the idea
Since only 500 communities are listed per intrest search:
I have noticed that there are commuities that are made and never updated. Or, there are comms that haven't been updated in close to a year. Is there a way to purge inactive comms say within a year if they have never been updated, with a notification going out to the owners of these comms?
- It would help new communities get their names in the intests list that are new, and could possibly thrive better.
- So when a person types in an interst in the find box, they won't just see a few communities that are updated daily and a vast amount that have not been updated in almost a year, to never updated.
- The newer comms won't get completley overlooked and die a slow death becaise they aren't old enough to be listed.
- I really don't see any draw backs to this, I have been a part of other boards, and communities off LJ that have done this, but they send out a "city wide" message letting people know that they are getting ready to purge, so if they don't want the community gone, they need to have action on it.
