Download raw results of polls

Title
Download raw results of polls

Short, concise description of the idea
It would be useful to be able to get the results of LJ polls in a more easily manipulatable format.

Full description of the idea
I occasionally post polls to large communities, which get hundreds of responses. It would be really helpful if I could download the raw results in some way, for example csv format, so I can do some more complex analysis than just the percentages you get on LJ.

For example, I would like to see how the answers to the rest of the poll differed by reported age. Or by people who said they were 'regular members' vs those just passing through. Or easily compare the percentages of people who said either 'agree' OR 'strongly agree' vs those who said anything else. And other totals, averages, all kinds of exciting things like that.

At the moment, if you wanted to get that information, you have to make multiple polls/questions to allow for each permutation, which then obscures the bigger picture. Or you can manually connect up the usernames, but this becomes impractical when polls get large numbers of responses.

This could be available to only the poll creator, or to anyone with permissions to view full results (I would prefer the latter, I'd love to play with some of the polls I've seen).

An ordered list of benefits
  • We r geeks. We like playing with data. We will send you love.
  • People won't have to make cumbersomely constructed polls or multiple polls just to be able to see the data they're collecting in a useful way via LJ's interface.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • As usual, time taken to develop this and associated documentation. I can't think of anything more serious than that.
