Export and Importing Entries and Comments

Title
Export and Importing Entries and Comments

Short, concise description of the idea
The ability to export a certain entry (with its comments) and import it to another journal.

Full description of the idea
I think an ability to export the entry and comments from one journal and integrate it into another would be a lot more LJ users friendly.

I've opened few journals and realized that it'd feel much better if all the data was under one journal instead. By simply linking an entry from another journal, while no problem for other users, is repetitive for myself. Also, many users changed journals, and it'd be much less excessive to have so many dead journals around. I would like the options if the entries/comments can be transferred, or if the journals can be merged.

The second part to the request is to transfer an entry that you posted yourself at a community back to your personal journal. I opened a community to showcase my artworks, but every time I have to provide a link on my personal journal to point to the entry that has the artworks. I realized that's just too repetitive. Importing/Exporting Entries from one personal journal to another might prove difficult since there's the LJ username interface to consider, but a post on a community is still posted by you. In the nutshell, it really is just transferring, importing/exporting data.

It would be reasonable to have a fee for the transfer (or a benefit for Paid Accounts), but having the option would make things a lot more helpful :)

An ordered list of benefits
  • - Overall: Less excess of dead journals that are no longer active. Some users may have moved for reasons like avoiding certain people, but that doesn't mean they don't want their entries and comments anymore.
  • - For journal owners who want a fuller and more organized archive instead of having entries scattered around.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • - Interface in the comments (What username should replace the deadjournal dead journal username)
