"Forward to Email" Button on Inbox messages

Short, concise description of the idea
Inter-journaler messages sent via the message center when viewed by the recipient in the message center should have a link/button "Forward to Email", which when clicked, forwards to the email on record of the recipient.

Full description of the idea
The message center is great, but there's no way to store messages received in it except by letting them hang around your inbox cluttering things up. I'd like to be able to click a button and have the whole message forwarded to my email account of record.

Thus I suggest that next to "Reply" and "Mark as Spam" there should be a "Forward to My Email" link, as well, which does exactly that.

Messages that have been forwarded should retain the "forward" link (people might have reason to want to do it more than once), but there should also be a visual indication that a message has been forwarded. Perhaps the link should change to "Forward to email again".

An ordered list of benefits
  • This would allow users like me to consolidate their messages in their personal email (which has things like folders and archives and searching and stuff like that, which really LJ shouldn't be troubling itself to reproduce in the message center).
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Drawbacks:
  • Well, it would modestly increase the amount of outgoing email, but in comparison with extant volume LJ already transmits, it would be a drop in the ocean.
  • It will involve some developer time/labor to implement. Not, though, all that much as development projects go.
