Posting To a Community

Posting To a Community

Short, concise description of the idea
There are no buttons available for posting to a community when i browse it.

Full description of the idea
Unless i am already logged in,
there are no options given (link or button)
for posting to a community when i browse it.

It is hard to know whether or not i am still logged in
from a previous session (or a prevous day).

I know it is *implied* that i am no logged in otherwise
I would see the "post an entry" button.
But surely LJ is an inviting community
and not intentionally a puzzle.

When replying to an individual livejournal member,
i never have to log in because i am remembered
(via cookies i presume).

An ordered list of benefits
  • Livejournal will not scare off new community users.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • There will be an extra link on the community page.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • If i am not logged in,
why not offer the option to post
(via a link, just as if i *was* logged in already)
and then *subsequently* be asked to log in?
  • If (in addition) am not a member of that community,
i could *subsequently* be asked to join.
  • If i am not even a registered livejournal member... etc
