Facebook Application

Facebook Application

Short, concise description of the idea
It would be fantastic to have a Livejournal Facebook application.

Full description of the idea
Facebook is shaping up to being a great way to showcase what you are doing all over the internet. Being able to show my livejournal posts on facebook would be great!

Livejournal is a unique blogging tool, because it allows great control over privacy. It wouldn't be too hard to get Facebook users to log into the app and confirm LJ identity, so that various levels of privacy could be maintained when showing LJ posts on facebook.

What's even easier to do.. is that as an option you could let all "friends only" lj posts be viewable by all Facebook friends (maybe with a warning explaining what that would really mean). The other option being that they're only viewable on Facebook by your LJ friends who have added the LJ application.

If LJ were to do it (rather than some enthusiastic geek) you could incorporate paid member features into it. Not sure what.. but if it was good you might get more paid LJ members, too. :)

It could be fun!

  • Might get LJ more users

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • It'll take some time to develop

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Check the Facebook API for details how
