Merge Writer's Block Prompt with the Spotlight

Short, concise description of the idea
The "Writer's Block?" prompt on the user home page proposes a daily question to serve as a blog theme. Why not make it a way to post to a group blog that everyone could read? So when you see a question about modern life such as "How well do you know your neighbors?" you could either post your own entry on this topic, see other folks' entries, or both.

Full description of the idea
The writer's block prompt could stay as it is if folks like that, but in general the questions make me more interested in seeing other folks answers than in just posting my own. I really enjoy the Spotlight entries because I would never have found those blogs otherwise.

An ordered list of benefits
  • Provides a sort of online ice breaker and a way to meet other bloggers you might never interact with otherwise.
  • You could vary the theme from generic (modern life) to specific (seasonal, assorted holidays and events).

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • You might get too many folks posting at once to make this usable.
  • And if they keep the Writer's Block prompt, LJ folks would have to think of two suggestions every day, not just one.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Would need to find a place for this, either on the user's home page or on the Explore LJ page (probably better). It could go near the Spotlight box since it is similar in concept.
