Automatic Username Tag (for Communities)

Automatic Username Tag (for Communities)

Short, concise description of the idea
When a user posts to a community, a tag with his username is automatically added to his/her entry.

Full description of the idea
This could be an option, which a community maintainer could switch on or off, if s/he thinks it's useful.

It would make it easy to search for entries made by a certain user. Right now you have to enter each username-tag manually, which is easily forgotten/overlooked and not very handy.

It would be perfect/ideal, if it would be possible to 'back-tag' every entry in a community with the username of the poster. But I don't expect that, maybe there could be a script for that.

Also, I don't know about tag-limits.

An ordered list of benefits
  • Easy to find the entries of a certain user in a community.
  • Thus easy to find your own entries in said community.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Large and active communities might get a very long tag list or a very large tag cloud that way.
  • Maybe there is (still?) a limit on how many tags a user/community can have.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Ask a programmer :)
