Forward/future posting

Forward/future posting

Short, concise description of the idea
a request for a future/forward posting option so you can post in advance but the post doesn't appear until the day you've nominated

Full description of the idea
(other sites like typepad and comicspace have this feature) even if this means they appear on your own page all at once and your friends page on the days you nominate. I think this feature is especially handy for cartoonists, comic book artists, strip artists (and I'm sure writers as well) etc who would like to do regular strips/posts but not have to upload every one individually each day they want it to appear, ie, less time uploading means more time drawing.

An ordered list of benefits
  • -Able to better keep a consistent uploading schedule.
  • - less time uploading posts = more time to draw.
-Readers can depend on the time that you publish, ie, every Thursday at 4:00.
  • -Attract more artists/writers to LJ for this feature alone.
  • Many people have communicated to me on and off LJ, that they wish to have this feature, and subsequently look for other websites to use.
Unfortunately the other websites that may offer this feature aren’t in my opinion as good as LJ and its existing features.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • I can’t see this being a technical problem as other websites seem to cope ok. There does seem to be a few ways to organize this so it fits in with existing features which is a plus.
  • -I guess it might interfere with the out of date posting option, but I'm sure it wouldn't.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • This might just be a simple matter of tweaking the post of of date option?
