Add view-community link to community membership emails
Short, concise description of the idea
Add a "view this community" link to the automated email that gets sent out when a community membership request is accepted.
Full description of the idea
For communities that have moderated membership, LiveJournal sends out an email notification when the membership request is approved (or denied, though the denied isn't quite as relevant to this). The email contains the name of the community, and contains a link to add the community to your friends list, but doesn't contain a direct link to the community itself (or to the userinfo page). As an additional annoyance, the add-friend page that's linked from there doesn't contain a link to the community -- the "Add commname to your friends page?" header has the commname as just text rather than as an lj user type set of links.
There are a couple of communities that I've joined in the last week or so that I haven't felt the need to have on my friends page, but that I want to read/access directly once I have membership. Problem is, there is no way to get to the community from the membership-approved email. I either have to manually navigate to the community, or else use the one link in the email to add the community to my friends list without adding it to filters (since the friend-added confirmation page *does* do the lj-user-type link.)
A "You can view the community here: [link]" line in the email would make me quite happy.
- It will keep fire-breathing dragons from eating the world
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- Added clutter in the email
- Fire-breathing dragons wouldn't eat the world anyway
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- Add link to email.
