Short, concise description of the idea
Enabling users to add subcategories to tags for easier, more organized browsing to journals/communities.
Full description of the idea
It says here (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=226) that you can only view the last 100 entries under a certain tag and one way to solve this problem is to "subcategorize" tags but the subcategorizing I had in mind wasn't possible.
For example, you make icons for many fandoms but you want your tags to be oranized in subcategories. Instead of using long tags like:
More organized and shorter tags can be used instead:
It'd also be more convenient for browsing.
- Shorter tag names.
- More organized & easier browsing.
- Aesthetic appeal? (Because of shorter tag names, the "Entry tags" space doesn't look as crowded.)
- If users find this troublesome, it won't affect their preference because it's optional for them to add subcategories. This simply gives users more options.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- More coding?
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- Add a button saying "Add subcategory?" or "Add sub-tag?" or something to that extent.
