Add additional methods for ignoring e-mail post signatures
Short, concise description of the idea
Currently, when using the post by email feature, anything following two hyphens or underscores on their own line is ignored. This is used to remove automatic signatures from e-mail providers like Yahoo. However, some mail clients (such as phones) have no way of entering a carraige return. The entire message is on one line, and therefore the hyphens don't work.
Full description of the idea
Allow the two hyphens to appear after a <br /> or other tag and be parsed as though they appeared on their own line; or implement another method of ignoring all text below a certain point.
- People with silly phones (probably fairly numerous) can email from their phone and successfully suppress text added by their service provider.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
- Someone might accidentally trigger an alternate text-ignoring tag if it is not obscure enough.
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
- Add another method or flag indicating the end of text to be included in the entry.
