recent comments feature expansion

Short, concise description of the idea
develop a way to check/track somebody else's recent comments as well.

Full description of the idea
I love the new recent comment feature. And have found it to be a great timesaver already in tracking my own comments and comments made to my journal.

However, is there a way to check somebody else's recent comments yet? I have a couple of close friends who are very witty but have like 100 plus people on their friends list, many of which we share in common, but I keep my friends list smaller. Anyway, they often they ask me if I saw their post to so and so's journal etc and are usually disappointed that I didn't. But I just don't have time to search though all their friends lists to find the dozen of comments they might make in a day. I don't even keep up with all of my *own* friends list at the "read all the comments" level. I only read the main posts and occasional comment.

So is there a way enable that "recent comments" feature to check out other people's public or mutual friends most recent comments? And if you haven't developed it yet... could you?

An ordered list of benefits
  • Saves a lot of time for people with a lot of people on their mutual friends list.
  • Allows participation in threads one is expected to comment on, but might be missed by those of us who can't follow all the comments on 15 plus pages of stuff everyday.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Would make the stalking of somebody in the public posts easier. But if somebody is a staker they are probably just doing it the old fashioned time consuming way now as it is.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • I have no idea how to get it going. I don't write code. But hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to expand the feature that lets you track your own comments.
