New LJ-Hide tag - mainly for syndicated blogs

New LJ-Hide tag - mainly for syndicated blogs

Short, concise description of the idea
Implement a tag which causes text within it to not be displayed at all. Mainly useful within an RSS feed so that source-specific links/information can be removed in LJ.

Full description of the idea
An example of this is the RSS setup I am trying to find a workaround for at the moment, syndicating a blogger blog. The whole idea is so that my friends' friends pages don't look mucky with huge entries cluttering them up, and so that the lj-cuts can be used in conjunction with blogger hide/display cuts to make the whole thing consistent.

blog text goes here...

cut text goes here..

blogger read more link <--- ugly to LJ readers.

An ordered list of benefits
  • Syndicated accounts can create less confusing and ugly text (i.e. be more LJ-friendly)
  • Friends pages are neater

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Not that much use to 'normal' LJ users except perhaps to add private notes (viewable on editing the entry)
  • Confusion with lj-cut (depending on name).

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Simply strip out any text within a tag before displaying the entry.
