Streamline the Polls system

Streamline the Polls system

Short, concise description of the idea
When people submit polls they generally want to see the results. When people submit their answers, can we not take them to the "view results" page rather than a "results accepted" page?

Full description of the idea
At the moment there are two pointless pages in the polls system. When you enter your answers you're taken to a page which thanks you for your answers. But do you _ever_ want to submit your answers and _not_ want to see the reults? It makes more sense to jump to the "View Poll Results" page.

Speaking of which - the only difference between the "Poll Results" page and the "View Discussion" page is that the latter has the post and comments on it too. As you don't lose anything at all when choosing the "View Discussion" page over the "Poll Results" page, why not just have the one page, with more information on it?

An ordered list of benefits

  • Save on that extra, annoying, click which takes you from "poll submitted" to "poll results"
  • Show more information by default.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • None. Just have to remove one option and change where one link takes you to.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Poll Submission button produces the "View Discussion" page.
  • The "Discuss Results" page is removed.
  • Clicking on the "Poll #12345" link takes you to the "Fill out poll" page.
  • Tags: polls, usability, § implemented
