Increase number of allowed friends filters

Increase number of allowed friends filters

Short, concise description of the idea
Currently each user has a maximum of thirty allowed "friends groups." This number should be increased.

Full description of the idea
I propose that this number be increased on a hierarchical basis. For example, free users could remain at thirty, paid users could have fifty, and permanent accounts could have some number above that.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Generally, this would allow for increased flexibility in the use of filters. As different users use them in different ways, this may be a service some of those users would be willing to pay for. Some more specific possible uses include:
  • ... allowing users with large friends lists to have a larger number of subgroups than is currently possible.
  • ... allowing users to use friends filters to communicate with individuals more easily by allowing people to have more individual groups on their lists than is currently possible.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Possible disk space issue.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I'm not a programmer, but I'm making the assumption that this would be fairly easy to implement. It may only be a matter of changing a few lines of code.
  • Depending on how the current "friends list" becomes divided into the journals you read and the users who are allowed to read friends-only entries, this may or may not be relevant subsequently. My recommendation would be to implement it as a part of the change.
