Incorporate to-do list into journal style.

Incorporate to-do list into journal style.

Short, concise description of the idea
Make it possible to incorporate your to-do list into your journal style, such as in the sidebar.

Full description of the idea
The to-do list is a neat feature, but I never use it because I always forget that it's there. I think that making it more visible would go a long way towards making it useful for more users.

This proposal (http://www.livejournal.com/community/suggestions/296205.html) suggests adding a link to the to-do list, and while this is a good idea, I would rather have my to-do list right on my journal, where I can't ignore it.

So, what I'm proposing is a way to include your to-do list in your journal style. This would work especially well with the styles like Opal, Component, and Digital Multiplex that use a sidebar. It would be completely optional, of course (probably turned off by default). In S2, a further option could be to restrict the to-do list to displaying to the journal owner.

An ordered list of benefits

  • The to-do list would be more useful.
  • With journal styles with sidebars being added all the time, it would fit well.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • This would probably take a lot of coding, since the to-do list is not intended for interaction with styles.
  • Some users may have a to-do list that's too long to be pretty when put in a journal.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Null.
  • Tags: styles, to do list, ~ submitted - needs retagging
