Allow anonymous comments to friendlocked posts

Allow anonymous comments to friendlocked posts

Short, concise description of the idea
When viewing a post that is friends-only, we should be allowed to comment anonymously to it; after all, we are already logged in.

Full description of the idea
It was explained to me that selecting the "anonymous" option when commenting actually logs you out while your comment is being posted, and therefore prevents your comment from being attached to the friendlocked post. This should be changed; I want my friends to be able to leave anonymous comments on my journal if they so choose. They might have to be logged in to read the post, but they should be able to comment anonymously regardless.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Users can comment anonymously to friendlocked posts.
  • The "tell me anonymously what you really think of me" meme would still be useable even in journals that have been entirely friendlocked :)
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • None that come to mind.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Since the problem is that the code actually logs you out when you select the "anonymous" commenting option, that code should be changed; instead of logging you out, it should merely prevent your username from being posted along with the comment. This would allow you to still be logged in, therefore still be able to view the post, and yet comment anonymously.
