Paid removal from others friends list

Paid removal from others friends list

Short, concise description of the idea
Offer people an option to pay to remove themselves from other friends lists.

Full description of the idea
It is related to this memory:- http://www.livejournal.com/community/suggestions/144682.html I agree that the "friend of" thing is not a huge problem, but for some people it seems to be extremely important. I would like to see an option to be able to remove people from friending you for a fee, perhaps $3 a time or something similar.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Ability to remove users from friending you
  • Increased revenue for Livejournal from those that utilise the service.
  • Reduced workload in the support forums with less people asking if this is possible!
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Whatever programming would be necessary to facilitate this
  • No others come to immediate mind
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I don't think that this would be a function that people used all the time, but I definitely think that it would be used enough to add a nice little extra revenue stream to Livejournal.
  • I would see it as being an option when you go to the friends management area. A checkbox that is next to the names of people that friend you, that if checked takes you to the credit card billing screen and allows you to remove people.
  • We already now allow the changing of a journal name for a fee, and I would like to see this as an additional revenue source for the site.
  • Tags: banned users, friends management, profile/userinfo, § implemented differently
