Maintainers moving posts between communities

Maintainers moving posts between communities

Short, concise description of the idea
When members post in the wrong community, the maintainers should be able to move the post to the correct community if they also maintain that one.

Full description of the idea
I am one of a group of people who maintain and moderate the Elfwood communities. There are 6 communities in our 'group', each for different things (ranting, plugging, discussion, announcements, debating the rules etc) Often users will accidentally post something in the wrong community. We then have to tell them to delete it (or do it for them) and advise them to repost in the right place. Unfortunately, people then feel bad for posting in the wrong place, and too embarrased to post in the correct journal. We lose alot of good posts this way. If you have maintainer rights over multiple communities, it would be brilliant if we could fix it for them without losing the post.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Would save some conflict and confusion between moderator/maintainers and members.
  • It would be alot easier to maintain multiple communities (and might help you guys too - like if someone puts a suggestion in the help forum or a fault in the suggestion forum).
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Less incentive for members to get it right the first time when posting to communities
  • It means someone would have to take the time to write the code
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • This would be a nifty addition to the 'Manage Communities' page.
