Making validation e-mails easier to be resent
Short, concise description of the idea
It's common to find users who are unable to figure out how to have a new validation e-mail sent to them, despite being told how to do so several times.
Full description of the idea
It's common to find users who are unable to figure out how to have a new validation e-mail sent to them, despite being told how to do so several times. I think it would be a good idea to make the process simpler by having a button or a simple text field where a user can simply click or enter their username and a new vakidation e-mail is automatically sent to them, rather than having to go around the system by requesting a lost password e-mail as well.
An ordered list of benefits
There are probably a lot of people who simply stop using the site because they are unable to figureout how to get the validation e-mail sent properly. While it's true that many times we simply can't communicate with them to give them the information because of their souped up mail filters, there are other times when they just don't understand the FAQ. Once they get tired of being unable to comment, they just leave the site.
It's a bit silly to have to work around the system by having a lost password e-mail sent to you inorder to have a validation e-mail sent to you if you didn't get it the first time around. It would, quite simply, be a thousand times less comfusing to just be able to click a button.
Support would be a lot less annoyed by people who just could not figure out how to have a new e-mail sent to them, and valuable time would be saved from all of the validation nags that are being done all the time.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
The already swamped devs would have to code it. I'm sure it'd be a pain in the butt.
A new FAQ would have to be written.
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
I think that the dev process is pretty well understood and since I have no clue how to go about that, I'm just making the suggestion and going about my business.
