Allow users to whois IP addresses

Short, concise description of the idea
Basically, if logging IP addresses is enabled, the users should be able to click the IP address and be directed to a whois page.

Full description of the idea
If anyone has ever used phpBB2, this is the same thing as you will find on the administration page. All currently logged on users will be listed with: Their username (or guest), the time they logged on, where they are, and their IP address. It would be nice for users that log IP addresses to just be able to click the IP address to be taken to a whois page like geektools whois page.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Quick lookups on abusers.
  • (If the owner is smart enough) Someone can find if 'multiple flamers' are all coming from the same service.
  • Users can quickly find the abuse e-mail address if one exists.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • None that I can think of. Possibly a general 'all IP addresses are threatened if a user hijacks another users LJ.'
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Clicking the link on phpBB2's admin page takes you too http://www.geektools.com/cgi-bin/proxy.cgi?query=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx&targetnic=auto
  • The comments generation page can just include that link (and have the IP address be stored to a variable and inserted in place of the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) when it writes the IP Address of the user.
