Anonymous Option on Polls

Anonymous Option on Polls

Short, concise description of the idea
Polls should be able to be taken anonymously or by people who aren't livejournal users.

Full description of the idea
When one creates a poll, you can set it to be taken by "All" or "Friends". I'm proposing that someone with more technical knowledge than I changes polls to allow be taken anonymously, by people who are not logged in / do not have a livejournal account. (Or possibly checkbox for "take this poll anonymously", for things like that "blunt truth" meme that was going around.)

An ordered list of benefits

  • People without livejournal accounts will be able to take polls.
  • People wouldn't have to have their name tied to their poll result, for those embarrassing polls like "Do you wash your hands after you go to the bathroom" or "Tell me a secret" or "What do you really think of me".
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Include an additional option on the poll creator for "LJ users only" much like commenting.
  • People could take polls anonymously twenty billion times.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I have no idea how to implement this.
