allow lj-cuts on talkread pages

allow lj-cuts on talkread pages

Short, concise description of the idea
Add &ljcut=1 parameter to talkread.bml's URLs

Full description of the idea
talkread.bml would have an optional parameter ljcut=1 in the URL. This parameter would be set in links generated by the lj-cut tag, that we normally see in journal views, so that when the user follows those links, they'll see everything as now. But if the parameter is absent, talkread.bml will cut the entry according to lj-cut tags just as on journal views, and the user will be able to press the link and go to the same talkread.bml page with ljcut=1. Then it'll be possible to give links to talkread pages which don't expand all lj-cut stuff: just give the link without the ljcut=1 parameter.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Ability to link to specific entries without the user necessarily seeing all lj-cut stuff expand after following the link.
Good for riddles, lots of non-interesting data hidden behind an lj-cut, large entries, etc.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • No serious issues. The FAQ on lj-cut to explain the new way, perhaps.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Implementation is easy.
