Custom setting for minimum security

Title
Custom setting for minimum security

Short, concise description of the idea
A command for the admin console that allows users to set custom groups for minimum security settings.

Full description of the idea
Basically, I'd like to set minimum_security for prolonged periods to one of my custom friends groups. I go through periods where friends-only is too public, but I still want/need some of the closer friends to see the posts, and I don't want to kick people off my friendslist for when I'm ready to be more open again. And I don't want to have to create a second journal to do it.

An ordered list of benefits

  • - Users can create custom groups to regularly see their posts, when their friendslist is too expansive.
  • - Reduces the number of redundant journals (I know of at least two, and have considered it myself) when people create a second journal for only a few friends.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • - People would have to modify the command console to make a more public post, should they desire it. Potential source of lag?
  • -The command for minimum security would require yet another switch on the command. z.B., .
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • It might be easier to set the minsecurity as a default setting, rather than as an absolute minimum. Ie, when a new post is begun, it is always started at "friends" or whatever the user selects, but is still able to be set at a lower security setting if the user chooses to select it.
  • Other than that, I really can't think of much to help the situation. Perhaps if there were a switch page available so people could do it the same way they select a single post's setting, so they wouldn't have to use the console?
