More moods?

More moods?

Short, concise description of the idea
Addition of several moods that there seems to be a need for: Hurt, Weary, Proud, Shy, Worried, and Quiet.

Full description of the idea
"Hurt," "Weary," "Proud," "Shy," "Worried," and "Quiet" all have a place in the mood icon list - and they're all moods that either I or my friends have used, or wanted to use, fairly frequently. For now the way I get around not having mood icons for them is putting an <img> tag in the mood field in the client (Semagic); however, the field on the web update is too short for this, and it gets all screwed up if the post is edited on the site rather than in the client. moodlist.bml says that entries are searchable by LJ-mood, while "made-up" moods are not. I don't know if that's ever been implemented, but if it ever is, this would expand the available moods to search on. Possible moodtree assignments: Hurt: the "Sad" category Weary: the "Uncomfortable" category within "Sad" Proud: the "Happy" category ("Accomplished" in "Working" is similar, but not identical) Shy: the "Scared" category Worried: the "Scared" category Quiet: the "Thoughtful" or "Okay" category

An ordered list of benefits

  • More moods, which there have been repeated uses of.
  • More searchable moods if/when this becomes possible.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • New icons, or icon reassignment, for existing moods, if the icon the moodtree would give it doesn't fit.
  • A little more work to be done when new themes (both public and private) are created, due to having to take a few new moods into account.
  • Database issues?
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Assigning new moods to branches of the moodtree.
  • New icons if necessary.
  • Not sure on the coding or database implications.
