Short, concise description of the idea
When completing a payment, there should be links on places to go: for example, the left sidebar that is on all of the livejournal site pages with links. There should also be information on how or when you will be notified of the payment.

Full description of the idea
When completing a payment, the screen is basically blank except for the transaction information: https://www.livejournal.com/pay/ccpay.bml for example. After completing the payment, the user (or, at least, me) feels stuck. "What now?" By at least providing the left sidebar, the user has options on where to go next. If the sidebar is unreasonable, at least a link to go SOMEwhere. Also, when completing the payment, the user has no idea how long it will take for the payment to go through or if they will be notified at all. I think that on this page, it should also say "An email will be sent once the payment has been received" or some kind of information so the user can expect to get one or two email notifications or knows how long it will take to process the order.

An ordered list of benefits

  • User gets better information when completing a payment.
  • User is better able to continue on his/her web-surfing way.
  • Possibly fewer support requests...?
  • Minimal coding required as the side-bar is already defined.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Not sure how many completed payment screens there are. Could be quite a few.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
