Poll Image Relative Sizing

Poll Image Relative Sizing

Short, concise description of the idea
Add, essentially, relative width to poll display. This would be used to proportion the images and prevent layout-breakage.

Full description of the idea
My event boxes are 450 pixels wide. When there's a poll on my friends page, and I've answered it, the red bars that represent the percentage are so long that before I put a div in my boxes, they would break the layout, and now, they're cut off so I can't see the numbers that result. It would be great if instead of being a set size, they were a percentage of the container they were within (i.e., the event box).

An ordered list of benefits

  • Polls would never break anyone's layout.
  • Everyone could see the whole bar.
  • Joy would ensue.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Might be slightly more difficult to work out the proper lengths of the bars -- not sure how the math is currently done.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • It seems likely that at the moment the bar lengths are done by using the set maximum/default length and doing the math to find the shorter ones. It seems as though there ought to be a not-too-complicated way to determine that first length using percentages (say, 90 or 95 percent of the box width) and then use that to determine the shorter bars.
