Making the Suggestions page match reality a bit better
Short, concise description of the idea
The /suggestions page is missing two things that I think would be helpful: a request to read the recent suggestions that haven't been put in the memories yet, and a note that it may take suggestions a while to be implemented.
Full description of the idea
Suggest to posters, via the Suggestions Area, that along with checking out the memories, they should check out recent posts. As to the other, there is a sentence on the page that says Don't let this deter you --- most ideas are good, and most are implemented very soon (often within a day or even an hour), but sometimes there are conditions which prevent certain features from being added immediately. This is misleading. While some suggestions are still implemented quickly (e.g. Yahoo status indicator) most are not, and it would be approrpriate to reflect this more accurately, but still encouragingly.
An ordered list of benefits
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
After a suggestion is discussed for a while, it will be placed in the memories. From there, it may become an active project, or it may be postponed because of site conditions or time constraints. Don't let this deter you from suggesting things, however -- many suggestions are good and will improve the site when their time comes.
(That's not the greatest wording, but you get the idea.)
