Optionally display group name on filtered posts.
Short, concise description of the idea
On a filtered entry, display the name of the filter next to the padlock symbol. This could either be a variable in one's style or a checkbox in one's user settings (which lets it carry over to the talkread and talkpost views as well), or both.
Full description of the idea
I think the short version about covers it.
An ordered list of benefits
The poster can tell at a glance if the entry's settings are correct.
Readers know who else is reading a post and limit outside discussion appropriately. ("I never saw that." "But it was friends-only and you're on her friends list." "Must have been filtered, then." "Ooops! I didn't know I wasn't supposed to tell you about it.")
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
Users have to be careful naming filters because others will be seeing the names.
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
Style variable, used within lastn_event_protected. It collects the filter name and displays it as text. This would permit users to display filter names (or not) in their own journals.
Checkbox in preferences. This would automatically turn filter name display on or off when the user is logged in, as with the option to add "&nc=xx". This would permit users to display filter names (or not) in the entries they read.
