Etched with marks but I can deal

Add link to 'edit friends groups' on sidebar

Add link to 'edit friends groups' on sidebar

Short, concise description of the idea
Have a link on the sidebar on LJ pages (probably under the category of "Your Settings") to "Edit friends group"

Full description of the idea
It's not very intuitive to get to the edit friends group page by going to the ... (filter) and clicking on the link there. It would be simpler to have a link on the main page, or possibly on the Your Settings: Your Friends page, where it would also make sense.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Easier to access and edit your custom friends groups--less clicking.
  • Makes the idea of a custom friends group more publicly visible, so more users are aware that it exists and won't have to ask Support about it.
  • More intuitive to find--going first to the filter page doesn't really make sense.
  • It simply makes sense: you can edit journal entries, your profile, your friends list, pictures, password, memories, and styles directly off the main page, so why not be able to edit your custom friends groups?
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Would take time to code.
  • Would probably confuse users who haven't bothered to read the FAQs, thus making them more likely to need help on it rather than less likely.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I'm not a programmer, but I can't imagine it would involve too much coding--you're just inserting one extra line in the sidebar.
