Regarding LJ Status Info

Short, concise description of the idea
I'd strongly suggest the link appear somewhere nearby the website log-in area. I 'stumbled' on it by accident (admittedly, I'm a newbie to LJ--but my feeling is that most people using LJ are probably as 'confused' by all the 'options' and links as I have been... smiling...). For example, I had no clue you'd prefer we not 'refresh' (reload) a page when we had a problem--until I read it on the status page. The 'normal' reaction at other sites would be to do exactly that! I've been 'spreading the word' among my small circle of friends. But if that status link was placed in a more predominant place (the log-in area just seems the best place I could suggest--though it's no good for those who use clients to update--still if they come to the website at some point...). The chances are at least better that people might see and pay attention to such a link. Perhaps a petty/stupid idea, but I thought, 'what the heck' here. Thanks for this wonderful website! Nonn

Full description of the idea
See above short description. (LoL.)

An ordered list of benefits

  • more intelligent LJ useage by average (less saavy) LJ members
  • less confusion about LJ status by those not currently aware of this link
  • more cooperation for LJ status 'requests'
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • more work for the webdesigners/implementors (!!!) to change site
  • possible 'down time' to implement change (???)
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • minor (hopefully!) redesign of home page of LJ
  • implementation of change
