No Time/Date Stamp Mode

No Time/Date Stamp Mode

Short, concise description of the idea
Have a way of reading comments with only the username of the commenter and the comment text (userpics should be fine)

Full description of the idea
Make a way to view comment pages without time/date stamps or IPs. It should be easy to switch to this mode and out of it (for when you need that info). Ideally parallel to the setscheme=lynx concept.

An ordered list of benefits

  • While probably not applicable to most users, it would make it significantly easier and more user-friendly to listen to a large list of comments with a text-to-speech reader. Thus making LJ more disability-friendly. (Listening to time/date stamps is really, really annoying. Unbelievably annoying. Seriously, try it, you won't believe the annouance :))
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • No real harm, just a little coding and added complexity.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Create a scheme that doesn't display timestamps or IP addies, parallel to how setscheme=lynx works.
  • Bonus points for letting you set it as your default so you can just toggle it off when you need the info.
