easy arrangement of memories

easy arrangement of memories

Short, concise description of the idea
This is to implement a check-box system to the memories section, similar to what several web-based mail programs have.

Full description of the idea
Basically, this would involve each memory having a check box of its own, with a drop-down list of options at the bottom with the "delete" or "move" choices in it, so it would read either "delete checked memories" or "move checked memories". Perhaps a "check all" and "clear all" option would be good, as well. This is because I have a lot of memories listed, and the current way of shuffling them around is cumbersome, as it takes three new screens (the page that opens when you click "edit" beside a listed memory, the confirmation page, and the "success!" page) loading before memories are edited, deleted or moved. This would basically reduce it to only the confirmation and success pages opening if you just need to move/delete memories, and would enable you to delete or move many entries in one go.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Greater ease of organization of memories.
  • Reduced bandwidth usage because of fewer pages needing to be loaded (this would be a small change, but...)
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • I'd say just the normal issues involved with changing how any well-established system works...figuring out how to fit it into the existing framework, and getting used to it.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • This would be basic HTML at work, nothing that your average LJ staffer can't handle. :)
