automatic positioning of the cursor in the login field

automatic positioning of the cursor in the login field

Short, concise description of the idea
When accessing the livejournal.com page, the cursor should be automatically positioned in the "username" field.

Full description of the idea
I am assuming here that most users of LJ actually log in whenever accessing the LJ pages. This is the most sensible thing to do, after all. Every other person that doesn't have an LJ account won't really care where the cursor is at. As an example, look at the Google website, where the cursor is automatically positioned in the search field.

An ordered list of benefits

  • makes the use of the website quicker and easier
  • saves the user from moving the mouse or having to hit the tab key several times
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • none that I can think of
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Seriously, I don't have a clue how to do that. But it can't be too hard. ;)
