Memorial Area for LJ Users who pass on

Short, concise description of the idea

Full description of the idea
LJ is a very well connected community. When an LJ member dies, their journal tells a story. It should be preserved. Families and friends would be able to browse and leave comments, as well as, many of the members of LJ who wish to extend condolences. We've seen in many situations, LJ's users who pass on... may submit that last journal entry - and causes a rift in communities and brings out the best in people from all walks of life. I personally think it should be encouraged. Instead of having those LJ members who have died, spread out all over LJ - perhaps a place where their thoughts, lives, and so on... can be preserved - at least their LJ posts...not community posts. http://www.livejournal.com/users/kiss_me/ This user is the perfect example of someone's LJ that should be preserved.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Memorial
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Financial burden to LJ since dead LJ users won't be paying for their LJ to be preserved
  • Disk Space required to store complete LJ's
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Maybe an individual area would be created specifically for those users.
