Mangle e-mail address even when it's not "e-mail address"

Note: This suggestion has now been implemented. The original text is below, for future reference.

Title
Mangle e-mail address even when it's not "e-mail address"

Short, concise description of the idea
If a user selects the "mangle e-mail address" option, then his MSN username, if he has one, should be mangled as well.

Full description of the idea
The way Windows Messenger works, a person's MSN username, if he has one, is the same as his hotmail.com or msn.com e-mail address. Thus, if a user sets his MSN username to be displayed on his user profile page, then e-mail-collecting robots will simply collect his MSN username, i.e. his e-mail address (after all, it is not as though the robots will ignore it just because it's labeled "MSN username" instead of "e-mail"). I therefore suggest that, if a user selects the option to mangle his e-mail address, that his MSN username be mangled as well. If this was unclear, feel free to post a comment, and I'll try to explain better.

An ordered list of benefits

  • It would provide an added measure of security for relevant users.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Um . . . there would be a slight increase in bandwidth?
  • And it might cause a support request or two, though I really don't see how.
  • If anyone has any more significant drawbacks to point out, please post a comment! (not that you wouldn't if I didn't ask you to ;-))
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • The code to mangle e-mail addresses could simply be duplicated for MSN usernames; I suppose there might be a complication, but I can't think of one.
  • The text for the checkbox in editinfo.bml to mangle an e-mail address should then be replaced with:
Mangle your displayed e-mail address and, if applicable, MSN username
If you have the above option selected and are afraid spam-robots will find your e-mail address on LiveJournal, select this option and your e-mail address and MSN username will be modified so your e-mail address won't be found by e-mail-collecting robots.
