Rich text for comments

Rich text for comments

Short, concise description of the idea
allow comments to be made in rich text mode instead/as well as the current plain text/hmtl.

Full description of the idea
Right now we have rich text for entries but when it comes to commenting you still have to input all of the html coding when you want to add pictures, links, usernames etc.
That means that you have to know both ways of posting if you want to be able to format your comments correctly.

An ordered list of benefits
  • It would make it easier for new users and also for those less technically-savvy to comment in the way they have learnt from when they make entries.
  • It would make the LJ experience more universal and user friendly.
  • I also think having the options for richtext would be more professional looking. At the moment it looks like a basic and neglected area.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • It would be good to retain the toggle option between rich text and plain text for users to have a choice, but to make the rich text the default option like it is at the moment when you post an entry.
