Optionally display full text of LJ-CUT entries

Optionally display full text of LJ-CUT entries

Short, concise description of the idea
Add a user option that displays journal entries in full even if they contain LJ-CUT tags.

Full description of the idea
Some people don't like the effort of clicking on LJ-CUTs; they'd rather read their whole friends page straight through. It would be useful for those people to have an option to display the full, expanded text of journal entries in lastn views, rather than showing LJ-CUTs.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Eliminates extra clickthroughs and the bother of opening up a new window or tab for each entry.
  • Fewer queries to the LJ servers, since each entry is only displayed once rather than twice (friends page/calendar page and then its own separate window).
  • mikz stops complaining about it. *)
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Users who select this option may end up viewing non-worksafe content, large images, etc. without warning.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I think the best way to implement this would be with a checkbox in one's journal settings, much the way that nc=xx is implemented. It could be invisible, or set up as ?cuts=yes or ?cuts=1 in journal URLs.
