A FAQ having to do with the various support and development options, so people have a better idea where to go to get and give help.

Full description of the idea
I had a thought, an idea, a question...I went to ljdev and skimmed through stuff and a lot of people were being told they were offtopic and ought to come here. LJdev is clearly linked on the front page. Where is suggestions linked on that page? NOWHERE. And my question...it isn't an 'I need help' sort of thing, it's a 'hey do you guys know you need to fix this' sort of thing, so I don't think it belongs in support, I'm not sure it belongs in dev, definitely doesn't belong here, I don't even have a 'mailto webmaster' link...I'm lost. A link to a Support and Development FAQ or something of the sort on the first page, or in the sidebar would really clear things up

An ordered list of benefits

  • Less offtopic posts in development communities
  • Users getting the help they need
  • Potential helpers getting on board to help faster
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • Someone would have to write it
  • There'd probably still be some people with questions/issues that didn't fit neatly into the designated categories
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • Figure out what sorts of issues/questions belong in each category. Make sure all likely categories are covered.
  • Write it up, either as a list of questions with answers ('where do I? how can I?' 'go here') or as a list of available options with descriptions and instructions for use.
  • Link it in plain sight.
