Suggestions >> LJ-Suggestions
Short, concise description of the idea
To change the community name from Suggestions to LJ-Suggestions in line with other communities.
Full description of the idea
Several "official" livejournal communities already exist (for example LJ-Newsletter, LJ-Biz and LJ-Userdoc) Suggestions should be renamed to show that it is an "official" livejournal community by having the prefix of LJ- added to the front.
An ordered list of benefits
Clarity, Users would know for sure that this is an official LJ community
Consistancy, A consistant approach to naming would help form a more intiutive community structure (Long term plan)
Control, As an LJ- community the community would remain controled by Livejournal at all times.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
The most obvious drawback is implementation, suddenly changing the name of a community is a massive undertaking.
Few real term benefits, let's be honest it doesn't save time, money or server space, it's not going to make anything faster or better. It's mainly an athestic design feature...
An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
I'm not sure about the how, I recall renaming being done in the past and there's always been talk of the service being offered at some point in the future but in the here and now I am really not sure.
