Short, concise description of the idea
To change the community name from Suggestions to LJ-Suggestions in line with other communities.

Full description of the idea
Several "official" livejournal communities already exist (for example LJ-Newsletter, LJ-Biz and LJ-Userdoc) Suggestions should be renamed to show that it is an "official" livejournal community by having the prefix of LJ- added to the front.

An ordered list of benefits

  • Clarity, Users would know for sure that this is an official LJ community
  • Consistancy, A consistant approach to naming would help form a more intiutive community structure (Long term plan)
  • Control, As an LJ- community the community would remain controled by Livejournal at all times.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • The most obvious drawback is implementation, suddenly changing the name of a community is a massive undertaking.
  • Few real term benefits, let's be honest it doesn't save time, money or server space, it's not going to make anything faster or better. It's mainly an athestic design feature...
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • I'm not sure about the how, I recall renaming being done in the past and there's always been talk of the service being offered at some point in the future but in the here and now I am really not sure.
