Alternate Friends list format

Alternate Friends list format

Short, concise description of the idea
A Daily digest page of friends entries, going top down oldest to newest.

Full description of the idea
Catching up on friends list postings after being away for a weekend or a vacation is a pain -- it'd be nice to have an alternate friends view that would put all of the posts your friends made on a given day on a page, with the oldest ones on top and going down to the bottom. This way, after being away for several days, you could just go back to the daily digest ofr the last day you read LJ, read down, and easily catch up.

An ordered list of benefits

  • easier to find where you left off
  • top down chronology easier when reading a large number of posts.
  • easier to find something specific if you know it was from a specific day.
  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved

  • A person with enough active friends could create an unweidly singly page -- might need to have each day's page broken into 25 or so posts per page, but still ordered top down so they can be navigated easily.
  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation

  • This requires, primiarily, some back end SQL setup that I'm not versed enough in LJ's code to write myself. Someone bright who is can probably set it up easily enough.
