Monospaced font for journal update

Short, concise description of the idea
Please fix the text box on the Post an Entry page, where we have recently been forced to use proportional fonts to write HTML entries.

Full description of the idea
Historically LJ has always used a legible Courier font for journal updates. Someone seems to have tweaked this of late: it went from a standard size Courier, to a small Courier with zero leading, to the current proportional sans serif font. It's horrible to use.

An ordered list of benefits
  • HTML is full of slashes, quotes and angled brackets. Getting them right is vital for correct display. This is easy to see using a monospaced font such as Courier, but decidedly awkward in the proportional font introduced in the recent change.
  • Adds consistency with comment pages, to give a coherent style across the site.
  • Personal opinion: I think it looks a bit second rate to have a proportional font in there.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Comments suggest a minority of users prefer the new font
