Tag-specific RSS link
Short, concise description of the idea
When on a tag page, the alternate RSS link in the header should go to the tag-specific feed rather than the journal's feed.
Full description of the idea
On a tag page (e.g. http://community.livejournal.com/suggestions/tag/character+count), the RSS feed linked into the
<head> should be the tag-specific feed (e.g. http://community.livejournal.com/suggestions/data/rss?tag=character+count) rather than the RSS feed for the journal (e.g. http://community.livejournal.com/suggestions/data/rss).
Currently, the only way to get a tag-specific feed URL is by either remembering the syntax and writing it yourself, or by using the link provided by one of the few layouts that have a Syndicate module in the sidebar, such as Bloggish or Expressive (e.g. http://community.livejournal.com/suggestions/tag/character+count?s2id=18127063; scroll down to the bottom of the sidebar).
The coding itself shouldn't be too hard, as the tools to provide the correct tag-specific feed URL exist already, as shown by the presence of the Syndicate module.
- You wouldn't need to remember the syntax for the URL.
- People who don't know that tag-specific feeds exist could discover them more easily.
- People might subscribe to tag-specific feeds when they want to subscribe to the journal itself.
