Remove snap.com preview/adverts site-wide for paid/permanent users

Title
Remove snap.com preview/adverts site-wide for paid/permanent users

Short, concise description of the idea
Allow paid and permanent users to opt out of seeing the preview/advert from snap.com site-wide.

Full description of the idea
LJ has enabled the site preview for links to external sites on all journals. This means that paid and permanent users see adverts for snap.com unless they set a cookie to prevent it. This further means that when a paid/permanent user logs in on a browser that hasn't had a cookie set, they still see the adverts.

This is in contravention of the guarantee to paid/permanent users that they won't see adverts when they're logged in.

There should be an option on the Viewing Options page to disable graphic previews site-wide, and the setting should be stored on a per-login basis and not by way of a cookie.

An ordered list of benefits
  • Paid/permanent users will continue not to see adverts, as previously promised.
  • Browser pages will load within sensible times.
  • Posts to news won't generate huge volumes of comments from paid users who are forced to see adverts.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Loss of advertising revenue for LJ from snap.com
